JOB 020603 (TAP-15) (S)
The City of Dermott, Arkansas will receive bids for Main Street and Speedway Street Sidewalks Job 020603 (TAP-15) (S) no later than 2:00 p.m., local time, January 8, 2020, at the City Hall for the City of Dermott, Arkansas located at 211 East Iowa Street, Dermott, Arkansas, 71638. All bids so received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work shall consist essentially of the following items:
Construction of sidewalks for pedestrian access along a portion of Main Street and a portion of Speedway Street. The project consists of removal of pavement item, sidewalk construction, pedestrian railroad grade crossing, drainage structures, embankment construction, maintenance of traffic and miscellaneous items. All other related items of work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the Contract Documents.
The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein.
The attention of bidders is directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor. Minimum wage rates for Federal-Aid projects have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and are subject to Public Law 87-581, Work Hours Act of 1962, as set forth in the Contract Provisions.
The City of Dermott hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
The City of Dermott hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
The award of this contract will be contingent upon the Contractor satisfying the DBE/WBE requirements.
The Contract Documents are on file and may be examined at the following locations:
1. The City of Dermott, 211 East Iowa Street, Dermott, Arkansas.
2. W. L. Burle, Engineers, P. A., 111 South Walnut Street, Greenville, Mississippi 38701. All documents required for bidding purposes may be obtained from W. L. Burle, Engineers, P. A., 111 South Walnut Street, Greenville, Mississippi 38701, telephone number (662) 332-2619, upon payment of $100.00 for each set, which will not be refunded.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder's Bond issued by a surety company licensed to operate in the State of Arkansas, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to City of Dermott, Arkansas as bid security. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by City of Dermott. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Contract Bond in the amount as required by the contract documents.
3. The proposal and contract documents in their entirety shall be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited with the City of Dermott, 211 East Iowa Street, Dermott, Arkansas 71638 prior to the hour and date above designated. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the date of actual bid opening, without Owner's consent.
Work to be performed shall be in accordance with the "Arkansas Department of Transportation 2014 Edition of Standard Specifications for Highway Construction", together with all amendments and/or special provisions and/or addenda to the standards duly approved and adopted, unless otherwise noted in these specifications.
The attention of bidders is directed to the provisions of Subsection 102.08 pertaining to irregular proposals and rejection of bids.
