INVITATION TO BID
The Brinkley Airport Commission is currently accepting sealed bids for the 2023 mowing contract until May 5nd 2023 by 10:00am. All bids are to be mailed to the Mayor Secretary Brinkley City Hall 233 W. Cedar Street Brinkley, AR 72021. On or before the date and time specified above. The commission reserves. The right to accept or reject any bids. Mowing specifications will be available. The City of Brinkley is an equal opportunity employer.
AIRPORT MOWING SPECIFICATIONS
The below listed items will be mowed every two weeks or as needed, April through September.
1. 50 feet along each side of 4000-foot runway.
2. All land between the runway and the parallel taxiway when conditions permit.
3. 20 feet along each side of the parallel taxiway.
4. 20 feet along each side Henry taxiway.
5. 20 feet along each side of Hunter Flying Service taxiway
6. SO feet around turn-arounds (ends of runway)
7. Poison and mow a square area around the segmented circle (windsock).
8. Area around the beacon tower and storage building.
9. 20 feet around the middle ramp.
10. Additional 25 acres will need mowed 2 times at a minimum and possibly 3 times.
Each runway light should be sprayed with roundup or other appropriate chemical in a 5-foot diameter circle. Spray is preferred over trimming with a weed-eater because the grass sometimes grows to the point of hiding the light between monthly mowing.
Airport right-of-way area south of Sycamore Street (south end of runway), North end of runway and North of Highway 70 which is approximately 5 acres should be mowed 2 times during the season Mowing contractor will furnish all mowing equipment.
Mowing contractor will furnish monthly billing and will be paid promptly by the Airport Commission. Submit the bill to Mayor Office Secretary.
WATCH FOR AIRPLANE'S LANDING AND TAKING OFF STAY CLEAR OF THE RUNWAY EXCEPT FOR OCCASIONAL CROSSING. ALWAYS LOOK BOTH WAYS BEFORE CROSSING THE RUNWAY.
