THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION, THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY



This Sources Sought is for the purpose of identifying firms that can meet the following United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) requirements.



The SEA research center has a requirement for testing services, specifically, bacterial shallow shotgun metagenomic analysis for broiler chicken intestinal content, under NAICS 541380, Testing Laboratories and Services. The analysis shall provide ~15 million reads per sample for ~72 chickens and two intestinal regions per chicken, along with 2 control standards and 1 negative control for a total 147 samples. Testing shall be completed using a NovaSeq S4 2x150 PE run on Illumina Nextera XT platform.



This Sources Sought is not to be considered as a request for quote or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the contractor submission to this Sources Sought or the Government's use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor's input resulting from this RFI. No contract will be awarded as a result of this announcement. Data submitted in response to this RFI will not be returned.
